Gorgeous hair, squishy cheeks, pouty lips, dainty features. Yes, Ava was a dream to photograph.
I'm double dipping on these last two, because I just I just can't get enough of them.
I was lucky enough to have some "behind the scenes" shots taken of this session (yay!). I am working on a newborn safety post, and I will be sharing that as soon as it's finished. Stay tuned! :)
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

Well, for starters, you must be a friend. A comforter.
 You must hold motherly instincts.
A business woman and a comedian.
 A magician. A therapist. A mindreader.
You must be able to put yourself in other's shoes and see things from their point of view.
You have to be able to learn, and most importantly, accept that there is always more to learn. A student, but also a teacher.
Sometimes, you have to be a mother. But most of the time, you just have to be a kid.
You have to be a repairman and there are times that you may actually feel like a mailman.
You must be a financial advisor and an artist at the same time, and it's important that you understand the difference.
You have to be an acrobat and a master at yoga.
You have to be a weather forecaster, a night owl, and a circus clown (but never at the same time).
You are your own receptionist and accountant.
You have to have an abundant collection of strange noises, songs, and nursery rhymes.
You have to patient. Very patient.
It's important to be sure that you don't take anything too seriously or personally.
You have to understand that everything doesn't always work out exactly as planned.
And that's why you have to be great at improvising.
You have to hold secret powers. A baby whisperer.
You must know and record due dates of expecting mommas that you haven't even met yet. And LOTS of them.
You must be a puppet master, a fly on the wall, and an organizer.
Lastly, you must be a photographer. It isn't always easy being everything at once. You have to love it (even when it feels like you might hate it). You have to really really love it.
Ava's full session sneak peek will be posted soon, but I couldn't resist quickly posting these timeless black&white shots.  She was a dream to photograph.
Have a wonderful week, everyone!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I had my second session with a very special little three and a half month old "newborn". Her first session took place in the monitor-filled NICU. It truly is mind boggling, remembering her then and looking at her now. Seeing her now makes it hard to believe that she was ever 2 pounds, 6 ounces. Amazing.
a few more of my newest cousin...
Stay tuned- two little sweeties just turned two and they are both as cute as can be!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

All of these sweet little lives, I've touched this year.
Every time I sit down to process a newborn shoot I can't help but to wonder who they will grow to be. I am so looking forward to meeting many new little ones in 2012.
Best wishes for the new year,
Taylor

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel as a finalize my 2011 photo year. I'm not quite sure if I want to go screaming towards it or approach it shyly but either way, it is coming.  I don't know if I'm ready for a few weeks off from sessions, but I am DEFINITELY looking forward to doing some projects that I haven't yet had time to start.  And! I will still be blogging over my break, so keep in touch!
Here are a few from a session I just finished processing.  I posted a couple of sweet Austin earlier, but here are a few more that I couldn't resist posting.  Austin's parents decided to do a Lifestyle "Studio" Session, meaning that I packed up my stuff and headed to their home.  I love these types of newborn sessions because they capture memories of the new baby in the home, but they also capture those timeless studio shots. Enjoy!
Such a gorgeous family! Have a WONDERFUL week everyone!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I am seriously starting to feel the hustle and bustle of the season... I had 4 sessions this weekend: 2 with adorable newborns, and 2 with a couple of my favorite redheads. I will be working my butt off this week to get cards ordered! Anyway, here is a recap of my weekend!
Friday, a cute little man named Gage came to the studio. He may look familiar because I've photographed him twice before! He is way too much fun to take photos of- such a ham!
Saturday began with a Christmas party with my boyfriend's family. You can't go wrong with good food and good company! I left a little early to get up to Sandusky to photograph this sweet little guy named Austin. He was a joy to work with, and his parents were as well!
Sunday, a sweet little miss came to my studio. Baby Norah is a photographer's dream with her thick dark hair, and gorgeous creamy skin...
Later on Sunday, I went out to miss Laila's house. We had a ton of fun playing and eating cookies. More of my sweet red-headed cousin will be up tomorrow (Sure, I'll admit it. I'm a little partial). :)
I am so in love with the one above of Laila Rose. She is getting so big so fast. Time, please slow down!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

The Poignon family is welcoming their new beautiful baby boy, Hudson. It's weird. I swear I was just preparing for my first session ever with his big sister... who was 1 at the time.

It's bittersweet. I have so many clients that I honestly don't even consider "clients". I've grown to know and love them because they have been with me from the start. They've watched me grow, and I've watched their families grow. I'm going to stop before I get teary eyed. I'll save that for graduation. (Which by the way, I am definitely still booking for my special "clients" while I'm in college!)
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I had the pleasure of having this sweet little one in my studio. September is once again proving to be the most popular birth month! I hope you're ready for tons of fresh babies coming up soon! I know I am:)

Special thanks to Lauren, again, for the ADORABLE pink and yellow little hat. I love it, and I think Abigail did too;)

I hope you all had a relaxing Sunday and took some time to remember those who risk their lives for us everyday. Keep in mind, freedom is not free. Have a great week everyone!

Recently, I met the sweetest little guy. His name is Keagon and he has a super sweet big sis as well!
Oh! And a super big thanks to my wonderfully talented friend, Lauren Ensley, for crocheting me the adorable fluffy blue hat pictured below. Her little miss Peyton's session will be coming up soon:)

Blogging at school is quite therapeutic. Right now, I am in my independent study period. This year, I am doing the senior slideshow and when I'm not busy with that (or editing photos) I like to blog during this period! It's a nice little break from all of the madness going on in my life. It's also a nice little break from studying for pre-calc. Wish me luck. The test is in about an hour.
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor
P.S.- I want to give a big hug to everyone who commented/contacted me regarding my last post. I am so blessed to be surrounded by so much love. <3

Things that made my last-first-day of high school a little sweeter:
#1- fresh peach pie
#2- Mrs. Humphrey
#3- the discovery of Lightroom
#4- Epiphanie bags
#5- my new favorite dress
Truth is, I am excited for this school year. I definitely have a lot on my plate. This year, I have been asked to be in charge of the Senior Slideshow. Of course, I can't pass up an opportunity like that, so I will be attending many sporting events and school related functions taking photographs and filming (eeeek!). I have also been asked to take the student of the quarter photographs, and again, I couldn't pass that up either. I also expect to be a part of the yearbook staff which I am very excited about. On top of all of that, I have piano lessons and flagsquad to keep up with.
Whew.
I think I'll grab another piece of peach pie.

These three shots are of a sweet little miss named Payton. I have been looking forward to her arrival ever since I photographed her big sissy, Taylor. Payton is so angelic, and as you can see, her lips are just to die for.
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor
