I'll be 18 in just 18 days. How did this happen? I asked my mom how she felt about it- "I feel sad. You're not my little girl anymore. You're going to be off on your own before you know it." Her words were short, but they stung.
There are so many uncertainties that go along with the future, but the one that is eating away at me now is my career. How is someone supposed to choose what they want to do for the rest of forever? I have a family that will love and support me in all that I do, but I just wish there was an answer. I just wish the future me could send a letter to the past telling me what to do. I wish I could just wake up one day and just KNOW. But, it just doesn't work that way.  So, do I follow my art dreams to become a photographer? Or do I follow my love for nurturing and caring (and babies) to become a neonatal nurse practitioner? There are so many pros to both.  Today, I am leaning towards becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner.  I can assure you that will change by tomorrow.
Here are some of my favs from the weekend:
I love this last one because it is so typical of a 2 year old session! I'm glad I could get an action shot of the little miss.
Thanks to my amazing Aunt Theresa, Uncle Joe, Aunt Mary, and Grandma Elchert that made it to my piano recital today. I LOVE you guys!<3<3<3
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

Taylor, you have such an eye for photography and when you were putting the art spin on it, it was like no other. You are doing an awesome job and I am amazed at the work you do. I can't wait for you to take our pics, maybe next year sometime. Remember, the best part about being your own boss with your photography is you can take time off whenever you feel like it :) Take time for yourself, you deserve it :)

Andrea- I had so much fun with the kids too! Cameran's eyes are BEYOND gorgeous and I love it how I can see my own reflection in that picture if I look really hard:)
Summer- Thanks for the support and the sweet compliments. As much as I love taking photos, I really should be enjoying my senior year. My classes will give me enough work to stay busy anyway.
PS- I am almost 99.9% set on becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner. It feels right... and I'm all about that "follow your heart" touchy feely stuff;P Oh, and I really appreciate the posts, you guys are awesome!<3

Sister!! Follow your heart <3 I will support you in whatever you do! Trust me I know the feeling about wishing you could see the future. I especially wanted to know this when I was choosing what college to go to freshman year. I obviously wasn't happy about the choice I made, but I learned a lot of important lessons that year. Even though it sucked and most the time I just wanted to die, I don't think I would trade that year for something else because even though there was a lot of pain, I grew soooooo much. AND now I'm at Oberlin and I LOVE it here. I might not have ended up here if I didn't go to a college I absolutely hated first. I don't know if I'm going to like being a doctor. I'll have to work really hard and a lot of hours, but it's the only thing I've ever really wanted to do. Everyone acts like they are so sure about what they want for the future, but I've found out, that all of my classmates are scared. Scared of not being able to find a job, get into grad school, not liking their career path, etc. So yeah...you are right where you should be. No one knows what they want.

Also, it's uncertainties not incertainties :)

Thanks sister. The future is a really tough thing to think about. Anyway, thanks for the post! It's good to see that people are actually keeping up with my blog! Leave it to me to say "incertainties". It seems so obvious now. Oh well, I did write it at 8am.
