I vowed to myself that I would get caught up on all nine of my most recent sessions, which does not include my two weddings :(, by noon tomorrow. I'm sure that I'll be up to some obscene hour and then up again at yet another obscene hour. At least I have a boyfriend who is willing to get up extra early to go out to breakfast with me (going out to breakfast means getting up and getting ready, which then forces me to stay awake). I suppose I should probably stop blogging and get back to work. Two sessions down!

I feel ya, little buddy... I feel ya.

Braelynn is such a sweetheart! I enjoyed every minute of this session and I can't wait to see her again. Enjoy!

Today I met up with a very lovely couple and we went to quite a few NEW locations. Special thanks to a very wonderful local flower shop for working so well with us and allowing me to shoot in their gorgeous greenhouses. I have been so excited for Monica and Ryan's engagement session ever since we scheduled it months ago. When I first chatted with Monica, I knew that they were very unique and fun (which called for photos that reflected that of course)!

My Dad and I had a talk the other day about how we both have such big ideas (which sometimes results in us not feeling all that great). Twenty-five sessions in July... really? Sometimes I think I'm just too eager for my own good.

Happy 87th to my amazing Grandma Elchert. I love you so much!

Yesterday, my family had a big birthday bash in honor of my Grandma turning 87. There was a ton of swimming and a lot of fun and it was so wonderful seeing everyone (and eating delicious food, of course)!
Before the party festivities began, I did a very fun morning session. The Newmans have had aviation in the family for years, so we headed to the airport to get some shots with their plane. I have a feeling they have two little future pilots on their hands!

bliss on 257.- This is something my dad said to my mom about a week ago. It's about how they continued to add on to our house. Addition after addition, now they are wishing that they hadn't since us kids will be moving out soon and it just gives them more to clean.
My dad's quote applies directly to the way that I am feeling today. Being behind on about 5 sessions and having over 2,000 untouched wedding photos, I can't help but to think, what in the world was I thinking? Yes, I was completely ignorant thinking that I could possibly handle 6+ sessions a week along with weddings (and not to mention my AP Bio Summer work, but I'm just going to pretend that I don't have to worry about that at the moment... even though it's due in a week).
I suppose I should probably get busy.
This is sweet little Niko James. He was only a week old during our session and he slept so wonderfully. I even had to try to wake him to get some good eye-contact shots and let me tell you, he was not a happy camper.

I've watched this sweet girl grow this past year. She has brought so much joy and laughter to my entire family and I love her so much! Happy 1st birthday sweet Laila Rose!
Special thanks to Kyle for coming along on this session to give Laila someone to smile and flirt with. It never fails... all of my baby cousins have a crush on my boyfriend!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

As of today, I have spent the past 2.5 years of my life with this guy:

He's one of my favorite models for a few reasons:
#1- He has a plethora of his very own poses that include "the thinking man" and "the pregnant woman". Of course, he thinks they are stylish and model-like. My sisters, Darren, and I seem to think otherwise.
#2- Having him in front of the camera (and me behind the lens) gives me the power to boss him around and tell him what to do.
#3- He just might be the most attractive, funny, and sweet subjects I've ever photographed... ;P
Happy two and a half years Kyle! <3

TA-DA!  I am so in love...
Thanks to my little cousin, Allison, who was the perfect model to show off my new logo. Also, thanks to my cousin, Sarah (Allison's mom), for letting me borrow your daughter for a few hours! It was well worth the rude stares I received from people who apparently thought she was my daughter. I suppose I see the resemblance!
Ahhh! I am so excited!!!!:)
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

Sometimes, I want to do nothing more than see all of my friends, do 3 sessions in one day, shop, and fill up my agenda with busy-ness. Other times, I truly do enjoy doing nothing. I'm not going to lie, when I checked my calendar this weekend and saw that I left Monday session-free, I was excited. Excited for nothing. Sitting on the deck, putting my feet in the pool (too chilly to swim), painting my high-chair, doing laundry for my mom, playing tennis in the driveway, going to the theater to get Harry Potter tickets (CAN'T WAIT!), making fun of soaps with my sister, doing some location browsing, spending some time with Kelly (my very close friend), dying some cheesecloth, the randoms just continue...
It's kind of like the calm before the storm around here. I have a very busy week ahead.

I've been dreaming of this picture ever since I stumbled upon these lights. The explanation for my obnoxious laughter is simple: Kyle wouldn't stop tickling me. Coincidentally, that is also the same explanation for his guilty smile. I can't wait to get this one printed!
Thank you Allie for listening to my every demand this past weekend.
Stay tuned for the grand opening of my brand new logo tomorrow!;)
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I love 6 month olds. They are smiley and sweet, they have adorable baby rolls, and they (usually) can't crawl away from me. This is gorgeous miss Zoey (you may recognize her from her newborn photos). Anyway, I cannot get over how beautiful she is.
I just can't get enough of those little redheads! Which reminds me, happy first birthday to my favorite little redheaded cousin, Laila Rose! She has brought so much joy to our entire family and I am looking forward to our session Wednesday<3

We were chuggin' along for about 45 minutes and then, out of nowhere, this was my sign that she had enough...

I have SUCH an exciting week ahead. Stay tuned for the great reveal of my NEW LOGO! Yes, I do love my first logo... but certain circumstances are forcing me to create a new one (some people just can't refrain from copying). Trust me, I could go on and on about originality. I guess I've been wanting to come up with a completely new look anyway. And by "come up with" I mean completely create from scratch on PS. I am creating my own logo that represents my style and my business. I am creating my own because as an artist, that is what I feel I should do. I am not paying someone $65 for a logo that looks very similar to someone else's. I am being original. After all, that's what art is.
 Okay, my rant is done:)
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor
