Beautiful. But, she will certainly deny it.
Caring. All of the time.
Stubborn. But I'm a push-over. We even each other out.
Realistic. But I'm a total dreamer. Again, we even each other out.
Dedicated. To dance, tennis, piano, and school. Somehow she keeps it all straight.
Hilarious. 24/7.
Stylish. I'm thankful we wear the same size.
Smart. But she won't admit it.
Kind. She was just born that way.
Simply put, she's a perfect 10 in nearly every category
(with the exception of organization; you should see our bedroom).
Her smile makes a snowy day feel like Summer. Her laugh makes the rain go away. And even though she wouldn't admit to it in a million years, her presence makes any day a million times brighter.
And I'm lucky enough to call her my sister.
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

Today, I finished a wonderful book called Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. I want to send a shout out to my sister, Jamie, for recommending the book to me because I absolutely loved it. So thanks sissy! Anyway, often times, I know a book is good by how many pages I bend. If there is a quote that touches me, I bend the page (if I own the book).  That way, when a day is rough, I have beautiful quotes to look back on. This book has quite a few pages bent.
I loved it that Sammi wanted to include her pup and bf in her second senior session with me!
"We can't expect everybody to be there for us, all at once.  So it's a lucky thing that really, all you need is someone."- Sarah Dessen

P.S.- Congrats again, Sammi, for getting into Findlay. I am so happy for you! I <3 you and I can't wait for Christmas shopping!

WITH MY NEW LENS!!!!!! I just recently bought a new lens to add to my collection (along with a camera bag that will arrive tomorrow... ahhhh!). This lens creates the most beautiful dreamy bokeh and I just cannot wait to experiment. My heart did flips when I looked at the first couple shots I took with it last night! Anyway, I was lucky enough to have an absolutely gorgeous senior to use my new lens on for the first time. Meet Jamie. There are SO MANY beautiful shots, which gave me a really hard time picking and choosing for the sneak peek, and this is only half of her senior session! Jamie did a wonderful job on wardrobe and I can't thank her enough for being flexible with my crazy schedule. Thanks again Jamie!
Enjoy!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I've been stressed. To be frank, my job is just adding pounds to that stress. That's why I am so thankful that my most recent sessions have been with wonderful people. People that made that stress disappear for a moment, and whose photos will always make me smile.
#1- Sammi
Sammi is my best friend. She is beautiful from the inside out. She has been there for me through thick and thin, and I love her so much!

#3- The Borich Fam
I babysat for this family about a year ago, and that is why I couldn't wait to see how much they have grown! They are such sweet kids with such sweet parents which equaled a super sweet session.

Do you remember Emyrson Rose? My little state winner? Well, would you believe me if I told you that this is her? Because it is. Ohhhh my, when Sara pulled Emyrson out of the car seat to come into the studio, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Time flies. That's why I couldn't wait to do this shot with Emyrson's onesies.

#4- Jack and Family
Tracy (Jack's momma) and I had to reschedule their session about 3 times due to the weather! When the day was finally perfect, I just couldn't wait to meet with this family. I had no idea that Jack would be such a ham and that their mini session would only last about 15 minutes (going down in my record book!). Jack had us all laughing with his model behavior. Why can't all 4-year olds be like him? ;)

With everything going on in my life right now, it's hard for me to keep up on the sneak peeks! I will continue to do my best, but please be patient!

This one below cracks me up. I'm telling Kyle EXACTLY what to do which is made very apparent by my "eyebrow action". I can hear my own voice right now, "Kyle, please turn the camera... and for goodness sakes, ZOOM OUT!"

I'm glad to see that he listened;)

All of my upcoming senior girls should take note.
Nicole was a breeze to photograph because for one, she is seriously model material! I barely even had to tell her how to pose.  Secondly, she is extremely photogenic (ahem, absolutely BEYOND gorgeous!!!). Thirdly, it was wonderful chatting it up with her during the entire session:)
 Enjoy!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday! I took some much needed time to relax with my family and catch up on some sessions. Oh, and our food... was... AMAZING! But then again, it always is, so that is nothing new. Anyway, here's a quick weekend update on what I've been working on!
Thursday after school, I had the pleasure of meeting up with these lovely twin seniors. Gwen and Rebecca are just gorgeous! Their session was way too much fun.

This is miss Gwen:

I was bumming a little on Friday because I was forced to cancel two of my senior sessions because well, it's April in Ohio. The rain still hadn't ceased when I had the pleasure of meeting two gorgeous new parents. Taylor and Brett came all the way from Columbus too with a 2 week old baby- what a compliment!  There is nothing I love more than the "ooh's" and ahh's" that the parents express when I am posing their baby. Brett was continuously saying, "She is just beautiful. Oh, she is just beautiful.". It was by far one of the sweetest things I have ever heard! It almost brought tears to my eyes... almost;)
Meet Lydia Ryan:

Lydia's Mom, Taylor, is a devoted pianist and singer. I did get the privilege of hearing her sing during our session, but I didn't get to hear her piano skills! Nevertheless, I've been dreaming about this photo ever since I got my baby grand. I love it!
On Saturday, I was so lucky to meet two sweet little girls. Lauryn and Carmyn were a ton of fun. They reminded me so much of my little sister and me when we were young.
Here are Lauryn and Carmyn:

Lauryn and Carmyn's photos fit so perfectly to their personalities and that is exactly what their mom, Brooke, said after seeing the session sneak peek.  Mission accomplished:)
After meeting these two little beauties, I was off to Perrysburg for yet another newborn session.  The parents were wonderful, except momma absolutely hated headbands which broke my heart a little bit. She wasn't even a fan of my own handmade ones. She just didn't like the ribbons, flowers, bows, or girlyness at all. That wasn't exactly my cup of tea as I've been a girly girl my entire life and I am OBSESSED with newborn headbands! But needless to say, the sweet little one was such an angel. I loved her pouty lips and dark hair, she is already the spitting image of her father!

This weekend was a busy one, but that is how I like it. I'm still trying to figure out how to fit in 4+ newborns this week (which is also the week I have flagsquad tryouts). It's going to be a busy one! I'm looking forward to it:)
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I've done a lot of thinking this week. A lot of thinking. Thoughts of colleges, future plans, and careers. While one of my clients was feeding her newborn, she started chatting with me about my plans after high school. She was so shocked when I told her that I was planning on leaving Tiffin (and most likely Ohio) for college and possibly the rest of my life.  It really does make me sad to think about leaving my clients since I see so many of them on a regular basis, but it forces me to start thinking about what is best for me.
Believe it or not, I don't want to be doing portraiture for a living.  Well, of course I'll never stop portraiture, but I'm starting to think about commercial photography. I want to see my work in magazines:) Mrs. Humphrey says she will be very disappointed if in 5 years, I haven't expanded my horizons and found my other "art talents" and interests. Although the thought of it is scary, I couldn't agree more. After all, we are all on our own paths exploring what makes our hearts flutter, and refining what we ourselves do best.

PS- 4 out of 5 of my artwork is going to STATE!:)

Everyone has someone that holds their sunshine.  Maybe it's your mom, boyfriend, or little sister, but no matter what- it is always shining. So feel the warmth and the love, even when it's January 30th.

Here are a few snapshots from the weekend (taken with my new D7000!!!!). Have a beautiful week!<3
