I spent my early Saturday afternoon with brand new clients that I felt like I've known for years.
We enjoyed pink suckers, bubbles, and fruit snacks on a cool breezy day in the park.
I fell in love with miss Ava's facial expressions, and just to warn you, I'm certain that you will too.
Silly, and oh so beautiful as well...
I just can't get enough of this sweet girl. I can't wait to see her and her scrunchy nose again in July!
Have a wonderful week!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

It was a rainy day. We braved it out. I'm glad we did.
Just for kicks and giggles, this is truly a behind the scenes shot of a family session...
Little Miss Tude and Mr. Ball-of-Energy:
Yes, little sister did get tickle-attacked for the majority of our session. Her laugh is just too sweet to resist.

When a session begins with two giggly girls chattering about in their car seats, you know you're in for an adventure.
When a session consists of two very energetic toddlers, you know you better be coordinated enough to run while holding a camera, and keep the shot in focus all the while.
When a session closes with a shot like this, taken from the car as you're about to leave, you know that the relationships you hold with your clients go way beyond them simply being clients.
I can't believe I've been photographing these girls since they were teeny-tiny. Where do the years go?

I know that I've done a great deal of bragging about my clients (I seriously can't help it though because I really do feel like I have been blessed with some of the best clients there ever were).
This lovely family is no exception. I met them about a year ago, and I've been photographing them since. I've seen their beautiful family-of-three grow to an even more beautiful party-of-four. They are complete naturals in front of the camera (there were moments when I felt like a fly on the wall... in a good way). They are easy-going and laid-back (seriously, a Bob Marley session soundtrack would have been fitting). And the relationships they hold with each other are so clearly deep (and the photos so clearly show it).
Yes, it's clients like these that make my job a piece of cake (even with a somewhat unwilling 3-year-old).
Oh, sweet Karris...
Remember him? Well, he's a 9-month-old mr. tough guy now!
I knew I wanted a storyboard with these images, but I love this one so much, so I had to put it on here BIG as well:

I knew he would grow to be a giggly guy when I took this photo of him a year ago:
But I had no idea that his sweet laugh would be nearly as adorable as it is. When you can get a kid to laugh like this, you know you're doing your job right:
The many faces of Kale:
Happy first birthday, Kale! I still can't believe it's been a year already!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I haven't seen this little miss since she looked like this:
So, I'm sure you can imagine how I felt when she graced my studio looking like this:
Okay, so maybe that particular look made me feel a little intimidated. But let's be honest, have you ever felt intimidated by something to overwhelmingly adorable? I think not.
Chloe's momma is equally as adorable. The apple doesn't fall far, I guess!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I love a good, new, fresh start- such as meeting new clients for the first time, the first of a new month, the first taste of a freshly opened carton of ice cream, and yes, even the dreaded Monday. Newborns are a special kind of fresh start. A whole new tiny person to discover, meet, teach, learn from, (and photograph).
I truly enjoyed meeting this family and their newest addition for the first time. But mostly, I have been captivated by the way this former family of 3 has so easily adjusted to becoming a family of 4. I suppose that the reality of it is that they didn't have much adjusting to do because this fresh start wasn't anything like opening a new carton of chocolate ice cream. This was anticipated. It was simply meant to be.
This little fella's features were simply to die for...
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

Tracy totally ROCKED her maternity session! But how could she not? She is beyond gorgeous! I enjoyed every bit of photographing this beautiful family for the second time and I cannot wait to meet baby K. Oh, and can you believe it was t-shirt weather in January? LOVE it.
This is why I love photographing Jack. He loves the camera and has such an awesome personality! He had us all laughing!
Have a great week, everyone! And stay tuned... a sweet little red-head just turned one and her session was a blast!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I finally did it. I finally made my Facebook page into an "official" business page. Although I should be happy, I am feeling a little like I've just been broken up with. You see, the only reason why I wanted to change it into a true page so badly was because I wanted to be able to change my profile name to "Taylor Elchert Photography". Unfortunately, Facebook does not allow you to do that if you have over 100 likes. I have 823, so I missed the mark by a little. I'm pretty sad about it because since I made the new page, I lost all of the photos I previously had. It's also strange because I can no longer have private messages with clients. At least I don't think I can... I'm still figuring this out. If anyone has any tips on the whole "page" thing, PLEASE fill me in. I'll get the hang of it eventually.
Even though I am feeling blue, looking at these photos of Laila Rose cheer me up instantly. Laura might just kill me for posting this one below since Laila's hair is a mess. I, however, LOVE it. Note to self: save for "happy" project! ;)
There is a link to my Facebook page at the top of my website. Hmm, it will take a little getting used to, but that's with all new things!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor

I simply cannot get over how photogenic this family is. I have photographed Alli quite a few times (she's appears in my page header with my logo!), but never the entire family as a whole. So it's obvious why their session couldn't come fast enough. Alli, Ryan, and their parents are such naturals in front of the camera. As the session came to a close, Alli said, "I have an idea! Let's start all over!". My heart skipped. LOVE her.
And the session ended silly, just as it should:
Ahh, sometimes I really do wish I could start all over. Maybe start over the day, or the weekend, or even my entire school experience. Okay, yeah, I've been feeling a lot of "I'm not ready to leave my parents and my sister and my dogs and go to college" lately.
Have a wonderful week everyone. I promise to try to start posting more often!
Smiles and lots of love, Taylor
