So, I got this idea from another photographer in my workshop with Sheye. I thought I would give it a try... me being wordless? I know, but I think it's important that I occasionally let the photos do the talking. :)

bliss on 257.- This is something my dad said to my mom about a week ago. It's about how they continued to add on to our house. Addition after addition, now they are wishing that they hadn't since us kids will be moving out soon and it just gives them more to clean.
My dad's quote applies directly to the way that I am feeling today. Being behind on about 5 sessions and having over 2,000 untouched wedding photos, I can't help but to think, what in the world was I thinking? Yes, I was completely ignorant thinking that I could possibly handle 6+ sessions a week along with weddings (and not to mention my AP Bio Summer work, but I'm just going to pretend that I don't have to worry about that at the moment... even though it's due in a week).
I suppose I should probably get busy.
This is sweet little Niko James. He was only a week old during our session and he slept so wonderfully. I even had to try to wake him to get some good eye-contact shots and let me tell you, he was not a happy camper.

Happy Father's Day to all of those great Dad's out there, including mine (who I love very very very much).

My classes on my schedule for next year are reflective of my dream of someday working in the NICU.  I've been kidding myself for the past month by contemplating on what I truly want to do for the rest of my life.  This little idea has been tucked away in the deep parts of my heart for a very long time. It seems so simple now.  If only my classes next year were that simple.
I've had the pleasure of meeting three beautiful little people this past week.
I love this photo of me posing sweet Bryson (thanks Kyle), and of course I love the photo of Bryson that was produced as well!

I also had the privilege of being a part of Allison's and Jason's wedding this weekend. It was a beautiful day all around! I feel so blessed to play such an important role in many people's lives: capturing memories.

First, I would like to thank all of you who entered the Mother's Day Contest! I really loved reading through the posts, they were all so touching and sweet. Every single one of you are so deserving and it's really unfortunate that I only have time for one session. I wish I could photograph all of you with your children!
With no further ado I would like to congratulate...

Special thanks to my little sissy for helping me out with the drawing. I love her chipped fingernail polish;) Ashley, I will be contacting you shortly!
Anyway, I'll post a couple photos from the weekend and then it's back to work on my psychology paper! Enjoy:)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday! I took some much needed time to relax with my family and catch up on some sessions. Oh, and our food... was... AMAZING! But then again, it always is, so that is nothing new. Anyway, here's a quick weekend update on what I've been working on!
Thursday after school, I had the pleasure of meeting up with these lovely twin seniors. Gwen and Rebecca are just gorgeous! Their session was way too much fun.

This is miss Gwen:

I was bumming a little on Friday because I was forced to cancel two of my senior sessions because well, it's April in Ohio. The rain still hadn't ceased when I had the pleasure of meeting two gorgeous new parents. Taylor and Brett came all the way from Columbus too with a 2 week old baby- what a compliment!  There is nothing I love more than the "ooh's" and ahh's" that the parents express when I am posing their baby. Brett was continuously saying, "She is just beautiful. Oh, she is just beautiful.". It was by far one of the sweetest things I have ever heard! It almost brought tears to my eyes... almost;)
Meet Lydia Ryan:

Lydia's Mom, Taylor, is a devoted pianist and singer. I did get the privilege of hearing her sing during our session, but I didn't get to hear her piano skills! Nevertheless, I've been dreaming about this photo ever since I got my baby grand. I love it!
On Saturday, I was so lucky to meet two sweet little girls. Lauryn and Carmyn were a ton of fun. They reminded me so much of my little sister and me when we were young.
Here are Lauryn and Carmyn:

Lauryn and Carmyn's photos fit so perfectly to their personalities and that is exactly what their mom, Brooke, said after seeing the session sneak peek.  Mission accomplished:)
After meeting these two little beauties, I was off to Perrysburg for yet another newborn session.  The parents were wonderful, except momma absolutely hated headbands which broke my heart a little bit. She wasn't even a fan of my own handmade ones. She just didn't like the ribbons, flowers, bows, or girlyness at all. That wasn't exactly my cup of tea as I've been a girly girl my entire life and I am OBSESSED with newborn headbands! But needless to say, the sweet little one was such an angel. I loved her pouty lips and dark hair, she is already the spitting image of her father!

This weekend was a busy one, but that is how I like it. I'm still trying to figure out how to fit in 4+ newborns this week (which is also the week I have flagsquad tryouts). It's going to be a busy one! I'm looking forward to it:)

Those words will stick with me through the rest of my high school days, college, and beyond. I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life.  I know I have said that so many times before, but I am constantly reminded.

I'm so in love with these last two because of his adorable smiles! Sweet little Lincoln did not make a peep the entire session. He was a photographer's dream:) Oh, and a special thanks to Deb for letting me borrow Kyle's old the Tonka truck. Living in a house full of girls, props like these are hard to come by.

I can't resist the temptation of sharing miss Laila's session sneak peek (Laura, who said the sweet quote that I mentioned at the beginning of the post, is Laila's gorgeous momma).  This little miss is my ADORABLE cousin, and it has been such a pleasure watching her grow. I am looking forward to her one year session coming up here soon!:)

TA-DA! I left this weekend session-free because of the ACT on Saturday and the Governor's Art Show on Sunday, so when I had a little window of time, I figured I might try to get a few of my own senior pictures.  In other words, I bossed Kyle around for an hour (thanks for that). Which reminds me: happy birthday to my boyfriend, my very best friend, and my biggest fan- Kyle:)
This weekend was so FULL  and I have enjoyed every second of it (with an exception of suffering through the ACT).  Below is a photo of me standing with my artwork at the State Capitol Building.  I am holding my little super star, Emyrson Rose.  She is 2 months old already!  Thank you so much Sara (Emyrson's gorgeous momma) for bringing the family down for the opening show, it means so much. I have the most amazing clients!

I couldn't resist adding this photo because I love it so much! We loved roaming around the city today:)

:) I have a permanent smile on my face because this photo of BEAUTIFUL Emyrson Rose won me the highest honor at the State Art Competition. It went to Districts along with 12,000 other pieces from 1,112 other high schools. Only 300 pieces could be crowned state qualifiers. I am still in shock that I won first place. I feel so blessed to say that my artwork will be hanging in the State Capitol Building for the Governor's Show. Check it out April 10-May 12♥♥♥

I just can't get enough of the teeny hands and feet! It's safe to say that newborns are my absolute favorite subjects. Here are a few shots of a sweet little one I had in the studio this afternoon.

It's hard to believe that June is already booked! It's February and I am officially booking for July (book your Summer session ASAP). A little less than 2 years ago, I was excited just to have multiple sessions in a month. That faded quickly. I truly couldn't be happier:)

This is sweet Emyrson Rose. She is only 4 days old in this photo. I love love love LOVE newborn sessions and I have a ton coming up! I simply can't get enough of the newborn goodness;)

Everyone has someone that holds their sunshine.  Maybe it's your mom, boyfriend, or little sister, but no matter what- it is always shining. So feel the warmth and the love, even when it's January 30th.

Here are a few snapshots from the weekend (taken with my new D7000!!!!). Have a beautiful week!<3
